How do you change the direction of a group or change dynamics that have become negative? To quote a couple of cartoon characters: “Keep moving forward” or “Just keep swimming.” One needs to keep at it or keep working: and perhaps to try some different approaches or different methods. Many times the attitude of the whole group makes a whole world of difference. Jesus talked about the foolishness of putting new wine into old skins (Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22, Luke 5:37).
Our Outreach Committee is hosting a Back To Church Weekend on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th with the theme “NOW’S THE TIME.” They would like to challenge each of our members to keep inviting until you have at least one person or family that has “committed” to attend with you that day. Also, there have been some suggestions on updating our Worship Service “Hymns and Scriptures” sheets; let us know what you like (or don’t like so much).
So, keep going, don’t lose heart and try some new ideas to see if they work better as we remain faithful to God’s Word. St. Paul was inspired to put it: 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving to the glory of God. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:15-17).
See you in Divine Service,
