Lori was born in Nebraska City across the river from Hamburg, where she grew up. Her parents were farmers. She has 3 brothers and is 2nd youngest in the family. In High School she was in track and cheerleading. Following graduation, Lori went to Cosmetology College. She then went to work in Shenandoah, where she  met Rob. Rob was born in Atlantic on the farm where they now live, west of town. He was the 4th child in a family of 6. His parents were Wayne and Greta Ullerich. When he was in 1st grade, they bought a farm in Shenandoah. Rob graduated from Atlantic in 1976. Here he was in wrestling, football and cross country. On one fateful day, he decided he needed a haircut and Lori was the barber. One thing led to another and one evening while taking a ride, Rob popped the question. 3 days later Lori said yes! They were married at Trinity in Shenandoah on June 15, 1985. Their  honeymoon was in Okoboji. Lori joined the Lutheran Church at this time.

Rob then worked for Easton Corporation for 12 Years. In 1990 they moved to Atlantic, where they built a house on the family farm. He became part of Ullerich Construction with his father and brother Chris. Rob and Chris continue in this business today, and keeping busy, currently doing a family room and kitchen. Following their move to Atlantic, Lori continued to do beautician work in her home and when they came along, took care of her kids. She also worked at Earl May’s, Dave’s Garden Center and Orschein’s. Currently, beside doing yard work, Lori along with Rob and their daughter Melany are fixing up a house in Marne, which eventually will be sold.

Their children include Cade who lives in Omaha, is married and has 1 daughter. Marie lives in El Paso, TX, where her husband is in the Army. They have 2 daughters and are soon to be foster parents. Melany lives at home and works with Lori. At Zion Rob has been very active, serving on the Property Committee, as an Elder and teaching Sunday School. Currently he is on the Building Committee and the Christian Nurture Committee. For hobbies he likes to fish, hunt and study Genesis. He also like to do woodworking and built 2 canoes, one of them in his kitchen. He recently helped with a new Creation Museum at Mission Central. Lori belongs to Joy Circle and serves on the Fellowship Committee. For hobbies she enjoys gardening, yard work, landscaping and hiking. Their travels have taken them camping to Minnesota and Colorado, and to visit Marie wherever she may be living. In some fun place, Lori would like to try Zip Lining, where cable is suspended above an incline, to which a pulley and harness are attached for a rider. They would also like to do surf fishing in Gulf of Mexico. Animals have completed their family over the years include possums, raccoons, cats, dogs and birds (including a cockatoo and quaker parrots). We thank them for their service to the Lord and ask God’s blessings in their lives.
