Kids Come First News July 2020

Summer has started off right here at Kids Come First! The staff have been pitching in every Friday and preparing a meal for all the kids! The kids have loved having a special meal provided for them, and it has helped parents out. The teachers have been having a blast painting the girls’ nails and playing cars with the boys! Miss Alex has been having baking lessons for the children who are interested. So far, they have made banana bread and mini smores pies! We have had a couple water days for them and plan on continuing this activity throughout the summer!

The Department of Human Services had a grant available to purchase toys and make improvements. We applied for it, and we received it! We have started purchasing new toys for the children and can’t wait to show you in the next View what all we have done!

We have slowly started to pick back up on the number of children we are serving during this pandemic. It is a very strange and uncertain time, but we are so excited to be able to spend so much time with the kids! The kids had so much fun helping Janet Klute plant flowers in the playground! A Thrivent gift card was used to make these improvements. We also received an anonymous donation of our shed! We are extremely excited to have some great storage in the playground that has a locking steel door entry now!

Next on the agenda is a 10’X30’ sandbox with a sail shade over it. A brick path at the entry gate will also be added at some point.

Other play things that will be added include Hop Scotch, Black board, standing 4X4 game and some sort of outdoor musical item.

The playground has to have the same criteria as the inside classroom. These items will do that.

The existing flower bed has been stabilized, dirt added and perennial flowers have been planted. The flowerbed will add beauty to the playground for years to come.

THANK YOU!

All of us at Little Lambs Preschool and Kids Come First want to thank everyone who was able to make it to the Corned Beef and Cabbage Lunch on March 15, 2020!  We are so thankful for the money that was raised!

Little Lambs Preschool is no longer in session for the ’19-’20 school year.  We are all very sad but so excited to see what our next group of students will do! Kids Come First is OPEN!  We are still accepting children ages 3 years to 11 years old.  We continue to give them a great experience and tons of opportunities to learn and play!
