Mission Statement

The purpose of the “Kids Come First” Before/After School program is to provide an environment in which the children will grow emotionally, physically, an socially. We will offer a safe and nurturing After School Program for children and help to encourage each child to become a responsible and respectful part of the community.

The “Kids Come First” Before/ After School Program is a community-wide service for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, and will include preschoolers already enrolled in the Little Lambs Preschool. “Kids Come First” is a non-profit corporation funded by community support and user fees.

Our program offers a safe environment, healthy snacks, planned activities for all age groups and a quiet place to do homework.

“Kids Come First” Program services are available Monday through Friday, 5:30 am to 6:00 pm on school days. Our program is also available on in-service, snow days, and early out days. The program is located within the Zion Lutheran Church Building at 811 Oak Street.

The caring staff at Zion consists of a licensed child care director, and certified child care assistants who plan and supervise age appropriate activities. Tutoring and homework help is provided by adult volunteers.
