Kids Come First News May 2016

Kids Come First is gearing up for the summer programs with many activities being planned for the kids.

When the summer food program at the school begins, we will be walking up each day to have lunch.  This will give the parents a break from having to pack a lunch for their child.

We will still be making breakfast and two snacks throughout the day.  We serve breakfast from 6:45-7:00 a.m.;  a.m. snack is at 9:00 and afternoon snack is at 3:00 p.m.

The three year old class was busy learning about recycling; how to recycle, different items that can be recycled and how to sort them.  Thank you to the parents who brought in items for us to sort and recycle.

We continue to recognize our names and the letters in our names, our shapes, working on cutting skills and most importantly we are learning through our play.

We have had a wonderful year and want to thank not only the preschoolers for a great year but also the support from the parents.  We are going to miss you over the summer!

We still have openings for our Fall Preschool Classes.  The three year old class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-11:30 a.m.  The four year old class has two sessions, one is from 8:00-11:30 a.m. and the second is from 12:00-3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Kids Come First will be going to the YMCA twice a month to go swimming.  We will also be walking to the library to participate in the reading program.

Anyone who would like to donate to Kids Come First is welcome to bring in any of the following items:

  • empty water bottles
  • toilet paper rolls
  • paper towel tubes and/or any other recyclable items

We use them for craft items or to use our imagination to make things.

Thank you to all the members of Zion Lutheran for your support of both of our programs.
