Zion’s Hand Bell Set was a Memorial Gift from the Harold J Cohrs family in 1980 and 1982. The Malmark Co, where they were purchased, recommends that they be refurbished every 5-6 years, depending on their use. They were in once about 11 years ago. Refurbishing is a process which includes checking for damage, tuning and polishing of each bell. Our bell set was sent to Malmark in Pennsylvania in June to be returned in August. The cost is $1,699.00 for this service. Zion’s Memorial Fund will pay for the refurbishing with consent from the Governing Board.
The Bell Choir has relocated to the organ area this season. We invite interested members to join the bell group. The first rehearsal will be on September 7 at 5 p.m. At this time a rehearsal day and time will be chosen. A musical background is not needed to play bells, rather it is a fun learning experience.
