BY GRACE . . . Access for ALL
Case Statement for Capital Campaign
Zion Lutheran Church, Atlantic, Iowa
Epiphany and Lenten Seasons 2017
Zion Lutheran Church has been blessed to faithfully proclaim the Good News of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. “Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand” (Romans 5:2). We rejoice in the privilege of receiving, sharing, and living in God’s grace in Christ Jesus for 140 years. In those decades the facility that is Zion Lutheran Church has experienced changes in location and facility appearance and uses to meet the changing needs of congregation members and the community in which we are blessed to serve. Many have prayed about and explored our response to the needs and opportunities that God has placed before us at this time.
Ministry to present and future generations necessitates ACCESS FOR ALL! The campaign assures that:
+ Elderly Zion members with walkers, wheelchairs and other means of physical mobility will have access to worship, education, and fellowship at any level of the facility.
+ An injured or physically handicapped child will have access to worship and Christian education.
+ All members seeking to be served the Lord’s Supper at His Table will have easy access to that opportunity.
+ All members and guests will experience the comfort and convenience of easy access to modern restroom facilities.
+ All worshippers will celebrate the access to the means of grace in a worship setting that is both reverent and refreshed.
As resources and opportunities are available, response to the campaign would make additional ministry programs, resources, and services accessible to the congregation and community.
The “BY GRACE . . . Access for ALL!” campaign celebrates that Zion Lutheran Church is excited about its ministry to present and future generations of Zion members. God’s grace continues to sustain ALL. Zion Lutheran Church is both viable and vital for this time and decades to come.
The “BY Grace . . . Access for ALL!” campaign continues to engage Zion Lutheran Church in mission to the greater Atlantic community. The searching, guilty, lonely, grieving, and all others distanced or separated from God’s grace in Christ Jesus will have access into “this grace in which we stand.”
